"CT MODOKI" Ver 1.35
====================
This program is a kind of CW QSO trainer with CT operation simulator.
I might say CT plus Dr. DX. "CT MODOKI" is written by AH0K, Kenny Sakurada,
who used to be JR2GMC and one of the main Ops at JA2YKA when they were most
active.
Many people in Japan are not good at keyboard operation, and they are trying
to keep away from CT telling some excuse justifying their behavior.
Even at KH0AM, many operators used CT for the first time just a few hours
before the contest ! Of course there is a big pile up from the States at the
beginning of the contest on high bands, CT beginners are upset and thrown into
the confusion.
I believe Kenny, made this program to solve these situations. Try it !
By the way, Japanese word "MODOKI" is a kind of slang meaning "...ish",
"in the style of" or "looks similar, but not completely the same."
... Well, See You in Contests !
Kenny Sakurada, AH0K

[How to Play "CT MODOKI"]
"CT MODOKI" runs under the same configuration that you run CT, although EMS is
not required.
1. Unarchive "CTM135.LZH" using LHA. Old LHarc might not work.
Then you will get ;
CWCT.EXE
PROPA.DAT
CWCT.DOC (This document)
You must put CWCT.EXE and PROPA.DAT into the same directory.
2. Type : CWCT [Enter]
3. You are prompted to enter ;
Callsign
Zone Number
WPM
UTC - 1 or 2 digit(s)
"WPM" is not really WPM. For my experience with 386SX/20MHz TOSHIBA, you
should set WPM around 20, about 1.5 time faster. With 486DX/33MHz it's
twice. And, be careful, you will be called at "AROUND" your speed ...
Usually most of them are slower than you when you set it at 36 WPM+, but in
this case, more than half of them are NOT slower than you at ANY speed.
4. The screen is changed and the program is started.
5. When you get correct, the program counts your score.
6. You must copy both Callsign and Number. "___?__" will be displayed when
you get only Callsign correct. It is not count for the score.
[Usable Keys]
Unlike CT, these limited keys are valid.
At the Callsign field :
Ins His Call + Contest Number
F1 Send CQ
F2 Send Contest Number
F3 Send TU
F4 Send My Call
F5 Send His Call
F6 Send CL?
F7 Send ?
Alt-Q Quit the program
Alt-F9 2 WPM Down
Alt-F10 2 WPM Up
Right Arrow Move Right One Character
Left Arrow Move Left One Character
+ F3+F4
^W Wipe Field
BS Back Space
SPACE BAR Toggle between Callsign field & Number Field
Shift+F1 Set CQ Message
Shift+F2 Set Number
Shift+F3 Set TU
RETURN Record the QSO
TAB Same as SPACE BAR
^A Move to Top of Field
At the Number Field :
+
^W
BS
RETURN
SPACE BAR
Ins
F6
F7
Functions are the same as at the Callsign Field.
[Miscellaneous]
1. While speaker beeps, what you type will not come on the screen. But don't
worry, your key-in stored in the keyboard buffer will come up when beeps
are over.
Kenny is going to fix this problem, but not yet. Consider, This program is
just for fun and he is not a professional programmer, must be so called
"AMAGRAMMER." (Versus "PRO^2GRAMMER", Hi)
2. Some stations might have unfamiliar callsigns which are not really exist,
but don't worry (Just don't worry.)
3. Band is fixed on 20m. You can not change it (Although the original
propagation data is of on 15m.)
4. Figures in the Summary Window :
Q - QSOs
D - Miss Copies
SCORE - Complete QSO rate (percentage)
Real score is not displayed.
Countries are not completely correct. Just don't take it serious.
5. "CT MODOKI" shows you MAX rate, callsigns & numbers you didn't get correct
when you quit.
RST check function is not included. Correct number is displayed like
"5NN25". This means you didn't get "25" correct and no guarantee for RST.
6. "CT MODOKI" is automatically terminated when your miss-copies exceed 100.
7. Sometimes you can't change messages with Shift-F1, F2 and F3 because the
cursor doesn't move to the window. In that case, just try again.
8. Some JAs (only JA) could be portable.
9. Screen color is (mostly) monochrome. This program is made for LCD display.
[About PROPA.DAT]
You can set portion of "stations called" by percent. Figures are the
sum of percentages of NA,SA,AS,EU,AF and OC from left to right in each hours.
For example, 0;0;100;100;100;100 makes stations called only Asia.
70;70;70;70;100;100 makes them 70% North America and rest Europe.
Original PROPA.DAT is made from real 15m log of AH0K '92 WPX SSB Contest.
This must be interesting for you guys in the West, huh ?
[Distribution Policy]
1. "CT MODOKI" is NOT PDS, but you can distribute free, free of charge.
Not for commercial use (Kenny doesn't think this is worth selling.)
2. You must distribute by complete set. You must tell him if you changed the
PROPA.DAT.
3. Version ups and bug reports will be uploaded in the "JCCC Home Party"
on the NIFTY-Serve (accessible from Compu-serve although it's in Japanese.)
4. Bug reports are welcome. Please send to GGA01137 (NIFTY-Serve) if
possible. I, JA7RHJ, might handle a little.
5. Kenny doesn't take responsibility for any kind of losses or damages which
are caused by the use of this software. Nor do I. I'm not sure this
sentence is legally (also grammatically ?) correct and perfect. Anyway,
you must use this at your own risk.
6. Kenny will NOT open the source code. It's dishonor to show you not well
organized codes, Hi.
